CVC Community Garden

REMINDER!

WATERING TEAM!  This is a crucial month for new growth, don’t forget your watering commitment!

The month of June should find us harvesting more veggies at the CVC Garden - we appreciate all those families who have been faithfully watering the soil.  Check out the garden every week for new veggies to pick (In May we picked more than 4 dozen radishes.)  June is a good time for harvesting squash and tomatoes - maybe even some beans!  Keep watching to see what God brings forth this month.  And a B I G thanks to our good friends the lady bugs, who are keeping the bad bugs away!

The purpose of this ministry is to promote community both in our church and in our neighborhood by providing a space to plant a garden.  In doing so we will meet the need for fresh, local and affordable produce for many of our church members and our food pantry clients, practice environmental stewardships, and promote good health by creating a wholesome, healthy activity for families.

Our program will grow fresh food for the clients of the Food Pantry, the remaining food that is not given to the Food Pantry clients will go home with the children of Chase Valley Church.   Ms. Gloria is not only a Master Gardener, but is also an excellent cook that will show the children how to prepare the food in a way that they will love!  Watch out children…. you may be eating squash and not even know it!

For further information please contact Ms. Gloria.
