Fish and Loaves Food Pantry/Missions Team
You are indeed helping! Your offerings to Faith Promise and your food donations to the food pantry are continuing to keep the food pantry open to help those who come for food assistance. The Pantry workers have seen an increase in requests for assistance with food over the past three years as job layoffs and the economy has taken a toll on the lower income residents of Madison County. It is hard to put into words how much these people appreciate the help with food that you are giving to them. 97 boxes of food were given out in March for a total of 211 people. To give you a comparison of the increase, in March of 2007, 35 boxes of food were given out to a total of 135 people. 97 boxes is a lot of food and your help is greatly appreciated!
The Mission Team meets on the Third Saturday of each month at 12 Noon. The next meeting will be June 19th at 12pm. All those interested in helping with our 2010 Mission Projects are invited to attend.
Items needed in the Food Pantry for May: Peanut Butter, Sugar, Soup, Flour, and Mayonnaise.
